About Acid Etched Glass
Acid-etched glass refers to annealed glass that has been treated with hydrofluoric acid to give its surface a frosted look.
Acid-etching is seen as a great alternative to sandblasting because the finished surface is smoother to the touch and easier to maintain.
The glass is known to withstand stress and stay streak longer.
Also, because of its durability, acid-etched glass can be cut into any shape or size and then tempered.
Acid-etched glass is used mostly for:
- Doors;
- Partitions;
- Walls;
- Shelves;
- Railings.
Usually acid-etched items are only one-sided, but the technique can be done on both sides depending on the glass thickness.
